The Retroid Pocket Duo is Retroid's first handheld with two screens built into one body, announced and priced in September 2026. It pairs a 5.5 inch 16:9 OLED on top with a 4.5 inch 4:3 OLED below, both at 120Hz, in a clamshell with a 180 degree free-stop hinge, a 6,000 mAh battery, active cooling and Android 16. The screen pairing is the smartest thing about it. Nintendo DS screens are 256x192 and the 3DS bottom screen is 320x240, both exactly 4:3, so that bottom panel holds them edge to edge, and the widescreen top mirrors the 3DS's own 5:3 top rather than wasting a second 4:3 panel. The catch is the chipset. Retroid used the Dragonwing Q-7790, an IoT variant of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with an Adreno 722, which is a tier below the QCS8550 in the cheaper Pocket Nova. At $269 retail and $249 on pre-order you pay more than a Nova for less compute, and get a second OLED screen and a bigger battery for it. That is a fair trade for DS and 3DS, where the silicon is ample, and a poor one for PS2, GameCube and Switch. Panel resolutions, stylus support and the ship date are still unannounced.
