The budget Pocket Duo. Same clamshell, hinge and 6,000 mAh battery, but two 60Hz IPS LCDs instead of 120Hz OLEDs and a Snapdragon 665 class chip. From $149, and best understood as a cheap DS handheld rather than a 3DS one.

The Retroid Pocket Duo Lite is the cheap version of the Pocket Duo, revealed alongside it in September 2026. It keeps the parts that cost nothing to keep: the same clamshell, the same free-stop hinge, the same 6,000 mAh battery, active cooling, the same five colours, and the same 16:9 over 4:3 screen layout that makes this product line interesting. What it gives up is the screens and the chip. Two 60Hz IPS LCDs replace the 120Hz OLEDs, the bottom panel drops to 4.2 inches, the shoulder buttons go in-line instead of stacked, and the Dragonwing Q-7790 becomes a Dragonwing QCS6125, an IoT variant of the Snapdragon 665 with an Adreno 610. That is 2019 era silicon, so treat this as an excellent cheap DS handheld rather than a 3DS machine. NES through PS1 and DS are comfortable, N64, Dreamcast and PSP are variable, and GameCube and PS2 are out. Retroid did demo Mario Kart 7 through Azahar on it, but that is a lighter 3DS title in a marketing clip. At $149 for 4 GB and 64 GB it is the cheapest modern dual-screen clamshell with a 4:3 bottom panel anybody has announced. The $169 step up adds RAM and storage that cannot fix the chipset, so skip it. Panel resolutions, stylus support and the ship date are unannounced.
