Anbernic RG 55G1

About this device
The Anbernic RG 55G1 is Anbernic's first Snapdragon-powered handheld, running the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 in a Switch Lite style body with Hall effect sticks and triggers. Its price and release date are unannounced as of mid 2026.
The Anbernic RG 55G1 is a milestone for the brand, its first handheld built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip instead of the Rockchip, Allwinner, or Unisoc parts Anbernic has used for years. A Geekbench listing confirmed the chip as the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (SM4450), an entry part that benchmarks between the Snapdragon 695 and the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2. The draw is not raw power but software support, since Snapdragon chips generally have the best graphics drivers and the widest emulator compatibility on Android. The Switch Lite style body brings 3D Hall effect sticks, Hall triggers, RGB ring lights, dual front-facing speakers, and an active cooling fan. Expect strong play through PSP, Dreamcast, and Saturn with lighter GameCube and PS2. As of mid 2026 Anbernic has not announced the price or release date.
