The Anbernic RG SP is a slimmer GBA SP style clamshell on the Allwinner H700 with 1 GB of RAM, a 3.4 inch 720x480 laminated screen, sleep on close, TV out, and a D-pad only layout in place of analog sticks. It launched 5 August 2026 from $64.99.
The Anbernic RG SP is the slimmer follow-up to the RG34XX SP, a folding GBA SP style clamshell built on the same proven Allwinner H700 chip with 1 GB of RAM. Anbernic remoulded most of the shell, trimmed the body by roughly 10 percent, tightened the top bezel, and cut the weight to about 168 grams. The headline change is the control layout, since the RG SP drops the analog sticks for a clean D-pad only setup. That makes it a focused 2D machine that plays GBA, SNES, NES, and 2D PS1 beautifully, while giving up the stick-driven N64 and Dreamcast titles the RG34XX SP could stretch to in handheld mode. Magnets and a hall switch handle sleep on close, and TV out plus Bluetooth and 2.4G controller support let it double as a small couch console. It went on sale 5 August 2026 at $64.99, with a $7 launch discount taking early orders to $57.99.
